The BIG question is.. what is the best diet for Crohn’s and Colitis that help people heal their (IBD’s) digestive diseases?
Well time and time again I see the same few diets mentioned in peoples healing stories. These diets seems to be the most successful when it comes healing our guts (IBD’s). The diets are combinations of the following:
- SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet)
- GAPS (Gut and Phychology Syndrome)
- PALEO
- VEGAN
- KETO
These Crohns & Colitis diets do vary from one another but we must focus on their similarities and common denominators:
- Many of the diets remove: Processed carbs… sugar, flour, potatoes, and gluten containing grains.
- They encourage home cooked meals, usually from REAL food not that boxed garbage.
- Most remove lactose especially in the form of milk.
- They have lots of resources for information, peoples experience, and for recipes.
If you are deciding on one of these diets its important to look at them and see which one would fit with your lifestyle. When it comes down to it diet is a a major part of the healing process so the best diet for crohn’s and colitis, is the one that you can actually follow without falling off the wagon. The process of healing isn’t really just to jump on some fad diet but rather to make your changes a lifestyle so that you can live your life to the max.
