Are you currently on a diet for your IBD that feels like it’s not working? (LIFE WITHOUT BREAD)
No matter what you do the results simply aren’t there… and your stuck feeling shitty?
You should consider doing a LOW CARB version of your Healing Diet?.. A Life without bread
This one TWEAK could dramatically change your results. I’ve mentioned before that I believe high carb consumption to be at the heart of IBD’s and most degenerative diseases aka lifestyle diseases.
When I first got sick letting go of carbs was one the hardest things I had to do. I remember I was doing the SCD Diet (Specific Carbohydrate Diet) in the beginning which takes almost all refined sugar and carbs my cravings were outrageous. They were so bad, that I’d put a chocolate bar in my mouth and chew it until it was mush…. then I’d spit it out. I knew at that point there might be some consequences so I got temporary pleasure without letting the food go down the hatch. Little did I know back then that some of this sugar and carbs were absorbed instantly in my mouth lol. At one point my cravings were so bad I’d have to throw sugary foods in the garbage can and lace them with Windex so I wouldn’t dig them out and eat them. Reality check of how badly I was addicted to food.. yikes.
I can say without hesitation that if one is to reduce the amount of carbs in their diet they will see significant improvements. Don’t take my word for it give it a try. Here is an awesome book that voices a similar opinion called
LIFE WITHOUT BREAD: by Christian B Allan, & Wolfgang Lutz (MD)
How a Low-Carbohydrate Diet Can Save Your Life
You see how a medical doctor uses a carb reduction diet in his practice to help people become med free and symptom free. We’ve heard doctors say that diet does not matter when it comes to IBD’s. This is a load of BS and these doctors definitely debunk that statement.
They complete a study where they take 67 Crohn’s patients and get them to follow a low carb diet.
The Diet is one which only 72 grams of carbs are allowed per day. Otherwise, you can eat what you want.
You can enjoy a bagel, rice, or a pastry etc as long as you don’t go over the 72 gram limit. …..and you are allowed to eat as much fat and protein as you want.
After 1.5 years on the diet 80% were symptom free.
These results are nothing short of awesome!
In the book they create a system in which things are organized into Bread Units or (BU) for short. Each Bread Unit is 12 grams of carbs. Under this program your allowed to consume 6 (BU’s) per day or 72 grams daily. In the book they have lots of references and cheat sheets for how many carbs each food contains etc. You can find a great book review here at weston price site.
I believe restricted carbohydrate diets are one of the keys to overcoming your IBD’s. This is why some of the most successful diets to heal IBD’s are SCD, GAPS, PALEO, and KETO. It not necessarily that one diet is better than another rather than personal preference.

I’m confident that this tweak will make a huge difference in your healing journey. . The healing game is all about failing forward.. tweak… fail forward, tweak and eventually you will get there.
