Before being diagnosed with my IBD I’d experience frequent night sweats. I’d wake up and both my body and the bed were completely soaked. There would be a wet spot on the mattress the size of my body. The night sweats happened on and off for a few years. They increased dramatically when I was having a flare. I know how annoying continuous fever’s and night sweats can be.

Why does Crohns and Colitis cause night sweats

Why does Crohns and Colitis cause night sweats? There is no concrete evidence why your body experiences intense fevers, but I can provide what I believe to be the reason. The most common explanation for a fever is that the body heats itself up to fight and kill: infections, germs, viruses, and opportunistic bacteria. It does this the way that an oven heats up to high heat to clean itself. There is a pathogenic component to IBD’s and other Autoimmune diseases which the body is constantly trying to get rid of.  Dysbiosis is where the friendly bacteria is overtaken by the opportunistic bacteria, yeast, and fungi.  A healthy gut has a ratio of good to bad bacteria that is 80/20.  When dysbiosis occurs this ratio can be inverted to  20/80 for the bad guys. This means your body and immune system are fighting a constant battle attempting restore balance.

Do you have constant night sweats and GUT issues? maybe you have an IBD

If you are experiencing night sweats and have gut issues like: IBS, diarrhea, blood in stool, or constipation you might have an IBD or other Autoimmune Disease. The great news is that you are investigating these symptoms early so you have lots of time to make changes to your diet and lifestyle.

If you’re tired of suffering from nights sweats then you must fix the root of your problem. You must change your lifestyle and implement various strategies to naturally beat your IBD. About the author

The GUT Ninja

Jay aka "The Gut Ninja" Health Hacker trying to pay it forward. I'm a dude whose life was flipped upside down diagnosed with severe Crohns-Colitis, and R. Arthritis. I lost almost 60lbs in less than a year. I felt bad for myself for a few months then I made a decision that I was going to beat this death sentence. I went on a mission to study "remission" what things other people did to improve their Gut troubles and live normal lives. I turned myself into a walking Frankenstein and through lots of trial and error I was able to achieve remission. I've been med free flare up free for 10+ years. My mission is to help other people overcome autoimmune disease.
